My stay at Pearl Hotel Ryogoku was an interesting experience. While the location is fantastic for exploring Sumo Stadium and the Edo Museum, the room was quite cramped, making it challenging for someone like me who values space. On the upside, the breakfast was reasonably priced and had a nice selection to start the day.

The room I had was very small. I struggled with the cramped quarters, especially in the bathroom, which was about 18 inches wide. Despite this, it was normal size for Tokyo, with just enough room for a suitcase and some hanging clothes.

The location was perfect for my needs. Just a minute's walk to the Ryogoku Sobu line station, it made getting around the city a breeze. Plus, being right across from the Sumo wrestling arena added to the charm.

Breakfast was a highlight of my stay. For just $11, there was a wonderful variety of options including fruits, fish, and bread. It was a pleasant way to begin each day.

Housekeeping was handled well, but I didn't use many facilities during my stay. Overall, it had basic amenities that met my needs.

7.2/10

My stay at Pearl Hotel Ryogoku was a mixed bag. On one hand, the breakfast was decent at only 1,000 yen, but the room was incredibly cramped, especially the bathroom. The location was fantastic for exploring, especially if you're into Sumo. I might return if the price was right.

Rooms
6.0
The double room was small, hardly accommodating two beds. The bathroom was particularly tiny, requiring me to turn sideways to enter. I had to stack one of the mattresses to create more space.
Service

The staff was friendly and understood enough English to help with my requests, although some things got lost in translation.
Location
8.0
The location is prime, just a minute's walk from the Ryogoku Sobu line station, making it easy to get to Akihabara and other attractions. Plus, it’s right in the heart of Sumo territory.
Dining

Breakfast was fine, though basic. It included scrambled eggs and mystery meat, along with fresh croissants—all for a reasonable price.
Facilities

Housekeeping was adequate, but it felt like basic maintenance rather than anything special.

My stay at Pearl Hotel Ryogoku was average. while the location was fantastic for exploring the Sumo culture, I found the room sizes quite cramped, which detracted from the overall experience.

Rooms
6.0
The room felt barely big enough for one bed, and the bathroom door was so narrow that I had to turn sideways to enter. I had to get creative with the furniture just to make more space.
Service
7.0
The staff were exceptionally friendly and eager to help, though there were times when the language barrier made communication challenging.
Location

The hotel's location is a major perk. just a minute's walk from the Ryogoku Sobu line station, making it easy to explore places like Akihabara.
Dining
7.0
Breakfast was reasonably priced at around ¥1,000, with a good variety of both Western and Japanese selections, although I felt it could be a bit pricey for backpackers.
Facilities

Housekeeping was efficient, keeping the room clean, though the compact nature of the space didn't provide much room for additional luggage.

My stay at Pearl Hotel Ryogoku was a mixed bag. The location was fantastic for exploring Sumo culture, but the room was quite cramped. Breakfast was decent, but the restroom situation was less than ideal, being very small and awkward to access.

Rooms
6.0
The room I stayed in was a double, but honestly, it felt more suited for one person. With the additional trundle bed, it got pretty cramped. The bathroom was particularly tiny, which made it hard to maneuver, especially since I had to turn sideways to get through the door.
Service

The staff were really friendly and helpful whenever I had questions. Their willingness to assist definitely added a bit of warmth to my experience.

I loved the location! It was incredibly convenient with easy access to the JR line, and I found that many interesting places, like Sensoji Temple, were within walking distance.
Dining

The breakfast offered a nice variety, including scrambled eggs, fish, and fruit. However, at 1000 yen, I found it a tad pricey for a simple meal.

The hotel provides basic housekeeping services, but that's about it. I didn't use many facilities beyond my room.

My stay at Pearl Hotel Ryogoku had its ups and downs. The location was fantastic, especially for Sumo fans, but the room size was a challenge. I appreciated the cleanliness and friendly service, but the bathroom was incredibly cramped. Overall, it was decent for the price, but definitely not for the claustrophobic.

Rooms

The room was small, barely fitting two beds. I had to stack one mattress on top of another to create space. The bathroom was even tighter, making it difficult to move.
